Titrwm Tatrwm/Hiraeth - two Welsh folk songs i find quite haunting, using just a couple lines of the song Hiraeth for a chorus. Titrwm tatrwm is the sound of peebles tossed at a sweetheart's window, and hiraeth, an unexplainable longing. The Welsh words in the opening verse, translate as "Titrwm, tatrwm, Gwen the color of lambs, i can't knock any longer, the wind is cold from the lake, awaken, color of the valley's flowers, Bellow the fire to light now, it's stormy tonight." In the chorus Hiraeth, the Welsh words translate as: "a great longing, a cruel longing, longing that breaks my heart."
